Ocean GeoLoop AS stated in a press release recently they are very pleased to join forces with Herøya Industripark AS and leading industrial players in the Grenland region to achieve the ambition of a climate-positive industrial region by 2040.

"The industry cluster at Herøya leads the green transition for Norwegian industry, and we will jointly develop the infrastructure strategy for CO2 management and profitable value chains in the industry park and  Grenland. By leveraging our technologies and network, we will operationalise this strategy through targeted carbon capture, utilization, storage (CCUS) and electricity generation projects," says Odd-Geir Lademo, CEO of Ocean GeoLoop.

Strong belief in groundbreaking capture technology

Herøya Industripark AS has studied various carbon capture methods in recent years. CEO Sverre Gotaas states that several challenges have been identified, making these methods difficult to implement for the park’s emissions.

"Ocean GeoLoop’s innovative solutions offer interesting opportunities to address these challenges, and we strongly believe that the company’s capture technology has significant rollout potential in the industrial park. We look forward to developing the infrastructure strategy and, through close collaboration, establishing a set of projects that will lead to substantial CO2 reductions. Together, we will accelerate efforts to achieve our climate goals and create a climate-positive business region in Grenland."
